Ladies' Fashion Show
First of all, I'd like to thank each and every one of the 77 Ladies who showed up for my annual Fashion Show last Thursday. The room had a great atmosphere and in particular, my four gorgeous models dazzled the crowd with their outfits, enthusiasm and downright party spirit. So a huge thank you to Edda, Liz, Lorna & Carol for doing such a great job and thanks to everybody who purchased or ordered something on the day - your support is greatly appreciated!
New stock arriving daily!
Please note that my January SALE has now finished and has made room for some really great and exciting new products for 2015. Please look out for some fantastic new ECCO shoes for both men and ladies as well as the terrific new DNA shoe from FootJoy. Plus, I have a dazzling array of Greg Norman, club logoed, men's shirts and will soon take delivery of the fantastic and ever-popular Polo Ralph Lauren club logoed shirts. There's the new electric Freeway 3 and Freeway 5 lithium battery trolleys from Powakaddy and some great i-Cart push trolleys from Masters.
So there's plenty happening in the Pro Shop and remember, as YOUR Club professional, I'd really appreciate it if you came to me first if you've seen something you'd like but it's not in the Pro Shop. In just about every case, I will be able to either match or most likely beat the price you've been quoted and not only that, if a fault develops, I'll deal with it quickly and efficiently and always with your best interests at heart. Remember; "People who know, come to their Pro!"
Club cleaning service
With relatively little golf going on at the moment, now is the time to look at your equipment and how best you can improve it. So why not drop in your clubs to us and allow us to:
Scrub the grips with a stiff brush and plenty of hot, soapy water. This will help clear the grips of any unwanted dirt and grime and will make them feel a whole lot better.
Give the metal shafts a rub down with some very fine wire wool but ONLY IF THEY'RE STEEL SHAFTS! This will help get rid of any pitted areas and make them shine again. If they're graphite shafts, we'll take off any blemishes in another fashion.
And finally, why not clean the clubheads with that same hot, soapy water? Maybe there's some grooves lurking under there somewehere. ;)
All this for just £10 (up to a maximum of 14 clubs).
It is with regret that Tom has resigned his position in order to concentrate more fully on his golf this season. Tom feels that having more time will allow him to help reduce his handicap nearer to the PGA qualifying entry limit and I'm sure like me, you'll wish him well. I'd like to thank Tom for his service to me and will miss his presence and input within the Pro Shop. I shall be looking for a new assistant ASAP and will inform you when I have made an appointment.
Keep play moving and enjoy your golf more...
We all like a fast game on the course and here's some great tip for keeping play moving. When you arrive at your tee, there are a few things you can do to help keep play moving. First of all, when you park your trolley at the tee, make sure you point it down the fairway rather than away from the hole so you don't waste a few seconds turning your trolley round. Secondly, be ready to play. I know it sounds obvious but don't fill out your card if it's your honour but instead, be ready to play and get yourself on that tee and swinging. And finally, when you return to your trolley having teed off, get your trolley moving first and then put your headcover on as you're walking along - don't stand there fumbling with your headcover and then start walking! Good luck!
